Precautions for polyaluminum chloride

Determine water quality parameters: Before using a PAC, you should conduct a water quality analysis to determine suspended solids and turbidity levels in the water, as well as parameters such as pH and alkalinity. This will help you determine the correct amount of PAC to use.

Determine the PAC dosage: Based on the water quality analysis results, you can refer to the recommended dosage range provided by the PAC supplier. The dosage of PAC is usually expressed in mg/L (mg/liter), and the specific dosage depends on the content of suspended solids and turbidity in the water. It is recommended that you start with a low dosage and gradually increase the dosage to achieve the best flocculation effect.

Determine the addition place:PAC can be added at different locations in the water treatment system, such as in the coagulation tank, sedimentation tank or before the filter. Choosing the right dosing point can improve the effectiveness of PAC and reduce waste.

Stirring and settling time: After adding PAC, sufficient time should be provided for the PAC to combine with the suspended solids in the water to form flocs and settle to the bottom. The length of stirring and settling time depends on the design of the water treatment system and the water quality.

pH adjustment: PAC is sensitive to pH value. Generally speaking, when the pH value of water is too low, the effect of PAC may be affected. Therefore, you may need to pH adjust the water before dosing PAC to ensure it is in a suitable pH range for PAC flocculation.

Prevent excessive addition : Although PAC helps purify water quality, excessive dosing may lead to excessive purification of water quality, thereby adversely affecting the environment and aquatic life. Therefore, please be sure to use PAC rationally based on the water quality analysis results and the PAC supplier’s recommendations.

Safe Operation: Please follow safe operating procedures when using PAC. Avoid direct contact with skin, eyes, and respiratory tract and wear appropriate protective equipment.
